Grooms cakes are a fun southern tradition in weddings. There are so many ideas and it's a great way to personalize your wedding. There are three types of grooms cakes we are going to discuss today. Sit down with your fiance and compare each of the three ideas. Decide which direction you want to go and then proceed from there. The Traditional Grooms Cake The traditional grooms cake is perfect for more formal weddings. Some couples want everything in the wedding to be clean cut and elegant. If this is you, the traditional cake is the way to go. Typically, it's a chocolate flavored cake with a scroll or maybe a chocolate drizzle. Couples can add some fresh fruit or chocolate covered strawberries to dress it up a bit. If there is any personalization on it, it is minimal, and does not take away from the dressiness of the cake. The Personalized Grooms Cake Personalized grooms cakes are fun! This cake is better suited for a more casual or relaxed wedding. Grooms often take hobbies or personal interests and incorporate them through their wedding cake. Some ideas are sports, movies, favorite foods, and bands. One thing to be careful with here is copyright. We can sometimes run into copyright issues, but if you want a personalized cake, let's talk about it. The Non-Grooms Cake
Some couples choose to do something completely different. Maybe the groom doesn't like cake? Or maybe y'all want to offer other desserts for your guests? A non-grooms cake is the way to go. Cookie cakes are great ideas! You can still decorate them to personalize them, or not, and they are still cake-like, but a tasty cookie instead. Pies and cheesecakes are other fabulous ideas. What about brownies? Or a sundae bar? The alternative dessert ideas are endless!
