We are very excited to be hosting our first ever Grand Tasting! So, what is a Grand Tasting? It's just as it sounds! Since we are a custom bake shop we don't have tons and tons of flavors sitting around in our freezer to pull out when a bride wants to sample something specific. Our cakes are always made fresh for every order. We wanted to provide a way for our couples to sample the traditional and not so traditional flavors all at once. Hence...our grand tasting! On Tuesday, January 20th from 5:30 to 7:30 pm Chateau on the Creek will be transformed into a wedding cake gallery! Come and taste 8 of our most loved flavors from previous couples. We will have everything from our beloved French Vanilla to our exquisite Banana Foster and Cream Cheese! In addition to sampling our cakes, we will have mock cakes set up just like they would on your wedding day!
Joining us are 3 wonderful companies I love to work with! Jennifer Harvey with Pink Parasol Designs and Coordinating is one of my favorite event planners and designers. Her ideas are as unique and specific as each bride. And her attention to detail is flawless. I love the creative concepts Jennifer dreams up! Dominika Hansell with Jamberry Nails will be there showcasing some beautiful ideas for your wedding day! Dominika is my personal consultant and I highly recommend her. As a baker, my nails are always being beat up and her products give my nails a nice finished look to any outfit and withstand the beating my poor nails take on a daily basis! Her line may also be a great addition to bridesmaids nails or even gifts! Definitely talk to Dominika while you are sampling our cakes. And Jenn Scott with Oragami Owl will be displaying her charms! I loved all the creative ideas Jenn showed me that can be done with these charms. They are the perfect way to incorporate personal details into your wedding. Have a special family member who you want remembered? A personalized charm hanging from your bouquet will be a beautiful way to remember your loved one! They also make great gifts for family members and the bridal party. The possibilities are endless! And last but not least, I want to extend a huge THANK YOU to Chateau on the Creek for allowing us to use your beautiful venue! If you haven't booked your venue yet, look no further. Kathy will be there to answer any questions you may have! We look forward to seeing you at our first ever Grand Tasting! Come...eat our cake...and let's chat about your wedding!!!

The 2 day Bridal Extravaganza is over! And let me say, this was by far the best show I have ever been too! I had such a blast...and I'm exhausted! But, in a good way! We met some wonderful new pros in the wedding industry and of course, we chatted it up with the old ones too! And the brides...what fun they were! We had a blast getting to know them and learning all about their ideas for their weddings. We have some fun weddings ahead.
With all the happenings going on in our booth, we never got to leave it! But let me share with you all the excitement in our little neck of the woods! The mock cakes! We introduced 3 new cakes and they were a hit! Our corset cake was a favorite among brides, as it has been for many shows! Brides ooed and ahhed over the criss cross pattern with a simple pop of rhinestone and pearl. Our new gold ruffle cake was a show stopper and many brides inquired about that design. The sunflower cake, a traditional favorite, was admired by some wonderful couples. And our surprise of the show....our suspended cake sure did draw a lot of attention. The elegant design at the top of the cake is a classy, traditional look. Add the rhinestone border at the bottom of each tier and it creates a romantic dessert for your guests. Brides came with their photos in hand! And the most popular cake I saw...the naked cake! Yes, my suspicion was correct. The naked cake is making a comeback! The taste! There is nothing more pleasing to a baker than watching the eyes of a bride light up when they taste our cakes! Followed by, "you have got to try this!" The dates! Our calendar is booking up fast! As every year there are some dates that are super popular. Let me share with you some of those dates we heard. If you are getting married on one of those dates, book now! They will be gone soon! February 14th, March 28-29th, April 18-19, May 2-3rd and 16th, June (pretty much the entire month), July 18th, September 26th, October (again...all of October)! Our biggest hit...the introduction of our Grand Tasting! Brides are super excited about our first ever Grand Tasting! And so are we! On Jan. 20th from 5:30 - 7:30 pm we will be opening up Chateau on the Creek and throwing the cake party of the year! We will be offering 8 of our most popular cake flavors for you to taste! Our mock cakes will also be on display decorated and staged just like a real wedding cake! Our TABC certified bartender will be available with our signature drink of the evening for you to enjoy! Come! And Eat Cake! Kayla Knight Cakes loves to use the Bridal Extravaganza as a way to reach out into the community and help someone. And we have found that our brides love to participate too! Every show we select someone with a "cause" and 100% of the deposits left at the Bridal Extravaganza will go to that person. It's a small way we can give back to our community! For the January show, we have selected David, a Senior at Texas Tech University, who will be going to Peru to do missionary service. David is responsible for financing his way to Peru and we would love to take some of the weight off his shoulders. Below is David's story. "Hi! My name is David and I am a senior at Texas Tech University. This spring break I have the amazing opportunity to join my campus ministry – Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) – on a week long mission trip to Puerto Alegria, Peru. On this trip we will have the chance to work with a group of orphaned boys who are not only dejected but also despised by the culture. Our job will be to assist the long term missionaries in the area by taking part in a building project and spending time with the boys showing them the love of Christ. John Piper, one of my favorite pastors and authors, says this about missions: God is pursuing with omnipotent passion a worldwide purpose of gathering joyful worshipers for Himself from every tribe and tongue and people and nation. He has an inexhaustible enthusiasm for the supremacy of His name among the nations. Therefore, let us bring our affections into line with His, and, for the sake of His name, let us renounce the quest for worldly comforts and join His global purpose. This is exactly what I seek to do in going to these boys in Peru. Would you consider supporting me in this venture? Will you consider praying for me and my fellow students as well as the boys we go to serve? Last, will you consider giving any amount to help me on my way to serve? Any support given is appreciated." I am so thankful for David's willingness to reach out to these orphaned boys in Peru! This is why we will be donating all of our deposits at the January Show to help David finance his trip to Peru. If you have already booked your date, or if you are already married (or no intention of marrying anytime soon), you can still help out if you would like. Just visit our FAQ page and at the bottom is a pay pal link. Just click on that and you can donate to David as well. Please write "David" in the notes section so I know to include that money in our donation! Thank you to our brides and customers, both past and future, who have helped us help others!!
