Everyone loves a French Vanilla cake! It's moist, light, and goes well with just about any fillings! It's certainly a win win for any wedding or special event. However, some brides want to branch out and choose a dessert that, while not too crazy out there, is still a little different then the norm. Here are a few great crowd pleasers that are sure to wow your guests!
Pink Champagne with Strawberry Filling - talking about wow! This light and airy flavor has just a tad bit of zing and sweetness. And the pink champagne isn't dark enough to change the color of the cake, so your cake will still be white if you are looking for a more traditional look. Pair this flavor with a strawberry filling for that extra sweet punch and it's perfect! Strawberries and Champagne in a cake!! Lemon with Raspberry Filling - this is a great spring and summer choice! The lemon cake is light and fresh, but not tart. It's a great treat after a heavy dinner, like BBQ. Add a little raspberry filling (that nobody will expect) and that extra punch just completes the dessert for a melt in your mouth dessert! Black Forest Cake - talk about a surprise! This dark chocolate dessert is super yummy and perfect for any chocolate lover! Fresh cherry juice is drizzled into the cake seconds after it's pulled out of the oven making for a juicy, moist, yummy cake! The black forest filling is a whipped cherry center that compliments the heaviness of the chocolate perfectly! It's a great choice for the more bold bride!

I love when brides put a modern twist on traditional cakes! Holly did just that at her beautiful Hacienda Del Lago wedding!
The horizontal texture design is a classic and versatile design for a wedding cake. Holly took that design and made it blue, creating a colorful and modern twist to her cake. Round is also a traditional shape for a cake. But Holly's cake, is oval! Another small fun twist to make a traditional cake not so traditional! Then there are the adornments. A bride and groom cake topper are the classic choice for any cake. Holly still wanted to incorporate that tradition, but add the modern DIY element. So she made cake toppers that looked just like her and Dan...and their pup! Lastly we have the cascade! Floral cascades are timeless! They are the classic look to many cakes for years past and years to come! Holly's flowers were minimal, but she still wanted that classic look. Enter the feathers!!! We chose to mimic the old time cascade, but with feathers! How fun is that! All in all, I loved working with Holly and creating what I call a traditional cake with a modern twist! Dessert buffet? Yes, please! That's what you get to enjoy when you come to our Grand Tasting! Mark your calendars now!
