As 2013 is coming to a close I've spent the last few days preparing for all the fun things coming in 2014! But not before pausing to reflect on some of my favorite cakes from this past year! Here are a few of my favorites: We had had a blast working with our 2013 brides and cannot wait to see what ideas we get to try with our 2014 brides! Happy New Years from Kayla Knight Cakes!!
There are so many beautiful and elegant ways to incorporate Christmas into your December wedding. Some brides go with a red/green or red/gold color scheme. Some brides take a more holly theme. While others choose various decor such as ornaments or nutcrackers.
Taylor and Chris chose a vintage Christmas theme for their December wedding. The setting was at the Caswell House. A beautiful historic home in the heart of downtown Austin. The home was decorated with greenery and gold. A tall Christmas tree adorned in gold and white ornaments stood in the entry wall. Centerpieces were various Christmas decor complete with mistletoe. Taylor's cake tied beautifully into her Christmas theme. Her 4 tier wedding cake added a touch of snow to her theme. Snowflakes fell down two of her tiers. Silver dragees clustered at the bottom of each tier, giving the appearance of fresh fallen snow. Not only were guests wowed by the presentation, but the French Vanilla cake with Strawberry Cream Cheese filling impressed their taste buds as well! What kind of fun inspirations cake help you create your winter wedding cake? Most brides want to come up with a unique and fun favor for their guests to take home and enjoy after their wedding day. They want something memorable. Recently, a bride at Chateau on the Creek came up with two great and personal favors for her wedding that I'm sure her guests will love and enjoy! Thank you Chateau for allowing us to use your beautiful venue to photograph these favors. Blankets! What a thoughtful gift for an outside December ceremony. This bride didn't want her guests to be uncomfortable if the weather was a bit chilly. So she went to IKEA and purchased these adorable fleece blankets. She then wrapped them in purple and silver ribbons (her wedding colors) and attached a little card with the couples name and wedding date. Guests can wrap up during the ceremony to stay warm. And then take their gift home to enjoy for years to come! Wine! Now this is a fun idea. In fact, I think my husband and I might try this for a date night one night! About 6 weeks prior to their wedding this couple visited Water to Wine. This is a great little place where people can custom create their own wine! What a fun date! The week prior to the wedding the couple, along with their bridal party returned. They bottled, capped, and attached the custom made labels specifically for the couple and their wedding day. I love this fun memory making moment with your closest friends. These were distributed to each family at the wedding as a personal way to say "Thank you!" And I'm sure the wine tasted fabulous as well! |
