 With spring getting close the ocean/sea theme weddings and events are becoming more popular! Beach themes are a fun and casual concept for any party. They are easy to decorate, can be dressed up for formal events, and the colors are beautiful! This cake was actually created for a Quincinera. Located on the second floor of a downtown hotel, the wall to wall/top to bottom windows overlooked the glistening lake! Tables were draped with teal silk tablecloths. Mock netting bustled around tall vases filled with blue and white hydrangeas and other floral assortments. The cake (or cakes) were an assortment of flavors ranging from a traditional white with strawberry filling to a decadent black forest cake! The buttercream design consisted of a two toned look, with sea blue on bottom and white on top. White buttercream accents created a sea like finish on the cake, to mimic bubbles in the ocean and the sea grass on the ocean floor. White chocolate seashells embellished the cake and added the final touches to complete the theme of the cake! Here are a few more ideas, from classic to unique!

 Let's face it, weddings are expensive. Most people don't have the kind of budget that all those beautiful designs on pinterest and magazines show. The key is being realistic. Set a realistic budget. Talk to your vendors and be honest about your budget. Listen to their ideas and they will help you get a gorgeous cake priced within your means. Despite some blogs and articles circulating, wedding vendors are not blood sucking leeches just out to zap your pocket books dry. We are mostly all small business owners who want to help you make your wedding day vision become a reality. We do this every day. So trust us with our ideas and designs. You may have to compromise a bit, but in the end, it will be gorgeous.
Here are a few ways you can still have a beautiful cake without breaking the bank:
 Cutting the cake is always a fun tradition during the wedding ceremony! Will your new spouse tenderly place a piece of cake in your mouth or will a cake war break out with edible yumminess smeared all over your face? Choosing the song that you play while cutting your cake generally sets the tone for how things will go. Generally speaking, sweeter more sentimental songs ensure things will stay...clean. But playing a faster more playful song may ensure you are reaching for napkins fast! You may want your cake cutting experience to look a certain way. Definitely talk to your fiance about it beforehand to ensure a smooth and pleasurable experience for both of you. But, what about the music? There are so many songs. Definitely talk to your DJ and see what songs he or she recommends. But, I have compiled a small list of various songs to help you get started in your song selection:
