Variety is the Spice of Life

We have all seen the beautiful and classic white wedding cake elegantly adorned in a simple design and topped with a beautiful spread of flowers.  That is what most brides envision for their wedding cake, myself included.  But, not all brides.  Maybe you don't want the classic white on white cake?  Maybe you want something completely off the wall and characteristic of you.  Maybe you are fun and crazy and unpredictable and want to portray that in your cake?  Or maybe you have a non traditional wedding theme and you want the cake to show that as well.  Not a problem.  Choosing a custom cake baker means just that...every cake is created specifically for ever bride.  This is true if she wants a very traditional wedding cake or not.

Meet Erin.  One of Austin's newest newlyweds.  She, her now husband, and her mother met with me a few months back.  Their spunky personalities showed me this would be no ordinary cake.  And it wasn't.  Erin had a love of octopus'.  Her wedding dress even complimented the theme well.  Her venue was Casa Rio de Colores, and House of Color it is.  Every color under the sun was captured in the beauty of the old structure, the sidewalk bricks, the tables, the decor.  Her octopus cake was not out of taste in this colorful and unique wedding celebration!  Don't let color or a little something out of the ordinary scare you away from your dream cake if that is what you desire for your wedding day!
