What's ahead for 2017 weddings?

I just realized it's been a few weeks since my last post.  Goodness how time gets away from me.  I recently attended the Wedding MBA in Las Vegas!  At this 3 day convention I learned so much about different resources to improve our business, better communicate with brides, and various new products too!  But I had the most fun learning about upcoming trends and thought I would pass them onto you.  Have you considered any of these for your wedding cake?

1. Texture - Yes, texture is still in!  And it's not going anywhere.  Textured wedding cakes are elegant and timeless, and can be decorated in many different ways to create that unique look for your wedding.
   
2. Naked Cakes - The naked cake trend has also been around for a while and is still going strong.  Although, brides are getting creative with it.  How about a naked cake with a chocolate drizzle over it?  Or maybe decorate your naked cake with a mix of fresh fruit AND flowers?
   
3. Bold Designs - Symmetry is popular!  Think triangles, circles, hexagons!  Various creative patterns...think 80s without the poofy sleeves.
   
4. Bright Colors - Brides are not shying away from color.  In fact, they are embracing it in their weddings.  Bold colors like blues and purples will be a hit, with one or two neutral colors as accent pieces.
